Chesapeake Boathouse Donors
The idea for a community boathouse on the Oklahoma River began as a grassroots effort among a group of rowers from the Oklahoma Association for Rowing (OAR). Their efforts caught the attention of visionaries Aubrey McClendon, Clayton I. Bennett and Lee Allan Smith who saw the potential for rowing to bring a whole new level of enthusiasm to the Oklahoma River and downtown Oklahoma City. Today, thanks to their efforts, the Chesapeake Boathouse enjoys support of business and civic leaders across the community.
